Internet Focus Groups
This new service enables you to watch live focus groups or one-on-one interviews on your PC from any location where you can be connected to the Internet. This means you can now watch regular focus groups in process from the convenience of your home, your office, hotel room or other locations.
Additionally, though you may be thousands of miles away from the actual session, you can provide your input directly to our moderator in terms of questions or clarifications that you may feel appropriate for the group discussion.
If your schedule does not permit watching the entire session continuously you may opt to disconnect and reconnect at a later point during the focus group or individual interview.
You may also conveniently access any parts that you did not have opportunity to see live by subsequently viewing the video from an Internet storage site, hard copy VHS videotapes or by viewing our carefully edited ESV-DVD™ that provides video highlights indexed by key topic.
Since our Internet focus groups originate offline and are designed, recruited and conducted to the same high standards as our regular focus groups, you need not be concerned with issues that may be associated with virtual focus groups such as sampling problems, lack of group dynamics and not knowing if participants are really who they say they are.

Focus Group ESV-DVD™
A new and powerful qualitative research tool!
The focus group Executive Summary Video-DVD is a unique concept developed by Wayne Howard and Associates to better meet the needs of busy executives. Focus group research results can now be provided in a more convenient, visually appealing and understandable format.
This new product is a composite of all focus group tapes for a given study ready to insert in the CD/DVD drive of your PC. It includes the key points extracted from each tape to provide a video version of the executive summary contained in the hard copy version of the report. Output is also available on VHS or S-VHS videotapes.
Total length is typically 15-20 minutes with each summary topic presented as a separate video subtitle after which the most pertinent participant comments follow. This makes the summary easy to view with desktop or laptop and is an ideal supplement to presentations of research results for ad campaign, marketing plan, management and provider meetings.
Since
the ESV-DVD™ is intended as an analytical
and presentation tool, the filming of
our focus groups is accomplished with
the same equipment used to produce broadcast
quality video whether done inside a specialized
focus group facility or at a hotel conference
room or within a hospital facility.
ESV-DVD™ production takes full advantage of new digital technologies available. Using state of the art video and audio with zoom-in filming allows the viewer to see focus group participant reactions up close capturing subtle details with even greater clarity than observers can see from behind the viewing room mirror.
This aspect has reduced the need for decision-makers with difficult schedules to spend time involved with observing. In situations where presence of observers is needed, groups are conducted either in a specialized facility or else a video monitor is provided in an observer room nearby the hotel conference room where sessions are being conducted.
Understandably, client reactions to the ESV-DVD™ have been quite positive since it also saves considerable time that might otherwise be spent searching endlessly through tapes for key comments that help clarify research conclusions and support decisions that may follow.
Prior
to developing the DVD format, this product
as we originally pioneered it in VHS tape
format during the early 1990's, has been
presented to healthcare marketing research
directors, marketing managers, senior
executives, ad agencies, senior vice presidents,
CEOs and Boards of Directors. Without
exception, response has been quite positive
for the reasons indicated. The ESV-DVD™
takes the concept one further step and
additional costs for producing it are
a relatively small addition to the total
costs for a given focus group study especially
when 3 or more groups are involved.
Many healthcare organizations have also been particularly pleased to find that our total billing for focus group studies with ESV-DVD™ output tends to be very comparable to what many other research firms are billing for a typical study without this unique information product.
